The Klaralven River, or “the clear river” in Swedish, constitutes over 250 miles of clean and fresh water stretching from Sweden through Norway. Timber rafting on the Klarälven river grew out of the tradition of forestry companies to use the river to transfer timber from the logging sites down to Karlstad. Nowadays the timber is transported by lorries, but the forestry companies still provide the logs that the timber rafts are built with.

Drifting down the Klarälven on your own built timber raft is an experience that is as peaceful as it is adventurous. You build, navigate and dismantle your own raft, following the instructions of an experienced guide at the construction site. The speed down the river will be about 2 km/h.
